Mon théâtre à Moscou
The story
Henriette Pascar’s 1930 memoir of avant-garde Moscow children’s theatre is represented by numbered copy 30 from the preferred 100-copy deluxe paper issue.
The first edition was issued in 675 numbered copies, the first hundred on tinted Lafuma vélin pur fil, a superior paper choice for bibliophiles. Pascar established an influential experimental theatre for children in Moscow around 1920, and recounts its pioneering approach to stagecraft, acting, and performance. Her illustrated narrative, published in Paris by G. Crès, is a primary witness to the development of modern Russian children’s theatre and its European reception. The book includes a portrait of Pascar by Alexandre Iacovleff and was published with a suite of theatrical photographs and illustrations, including color plates.
